Ponzi Schemes

Ponzi schemes are on the increase.  Not counting the biggest Ponzi “Madoff”, they amount to over 10 billion dollars a year.

They target the everyday person, from Investments, Pyramid and gifting schemes.

Ponzi schemes work only when there’s money coming in going out. Investors are enchanted by the profits “they think they made”. They keep reinvesting so the scammer never has to pay out. They spread the word of all the money they are making, which brings more people into the scheme When the money stops coming in, they just pull out, leaving everyone holding the empty bag.

Some schemes are small so that the newspapers do not report them. The internet is full of them.
