Question by DRS: How can I convert an MP3 song of 5 mts duration to a 2 minute mobile ringtone?
I want to make my favourite song as my mobile polyphonic ringtone. I have the song in MP3 format and I am able to listen to it in my PC with Windows Mediaplayer. But I don’t want that the entire song play when I receive a call. I want that only the first few lines of the song be played as ringtone. Please enlighten me how I can do that. Also Please suggest relevant software and where it will be available (URL, etc.)

go to www.tonethis.com and download it. It wont make a polyphonic ringtone though, it will be the actual song. you can adjust how much of the song you want to make into the ringtone.

I use Mp3 Splitter to cut the song into parts I want.

I don’t know if your phone can turn mp3 music into ringtones, but if it does, then just split the song and transfer it to your phone.
Good old Cubase!
There are freeware programs that will do this, too. Check out http://www.download.com/Audio-Production/3150-2170_4-0.html?tag=dir see if that helps
If it only plays MIDI ringtones, try http://www.musicrobot.com
